What does two circuit or dual circuit do?

Two-circuit input allows for a primary power source and and auxiliary power source to be connected to the emergency exit sign fixture that does not contain a battery.

These two input power source cannot be hot at the same time. Applications include those with generators,  inverters or alternate backup systems
