Installation Instructions for Emergency Exit Signs
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR EMERGENCY EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS
When relamping, only use lamps specified in the exit sign.
Using other lamp types may result in transformer damage or unsafe conditions.
Battery in the unit may not be fully charged.
After electricity is hooked up to unit, let the battery charge up for at least 24 hours.
Then normal operation of the unit should take effect.
When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Do not use outdoors unless your sign is a wet location listed exit sign.
Do not mount near gas or electric heaters unless your exit sign has the proper NEMA ratings.
Use caution when handling batteries and avoid possible shorting.
Exit sings should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be subject to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
The use of accessory equipment not recommended by Exit Sign Warehouse may cause an unsafe condition.
Do not use exit signs for any other reason then their intended use.
Before wiring the exit sign to the power supply, turn off electricity at fuse or circuit breaker.
Consult local building code for approved wiring and installation.
Installation and servicing of your exit sign should be performed by qualified personnel.
Most Exit Signs can either be Back Mounted, Ceiling Mounted or End Mounted.
Connect input as shown in wiring diagram below and fasten canopy to J-box bracket.
Snap housing to canopy.
Secure faceplate to housing and remove the proper arrow as required.
